Cfp: Perform.Media

Friday, March 24, 2006

Sounds interesting enough this call for work and participation for the Perform.Media: A Transdisciplinary Festival of Creativity, Research, Theory and Technoculture. To quote a bit of their statement:

The festival and symposium seeks the accordance and collision of ideas through the lens of interdisciplinarity, exploring the performance of new media and the performative qualities of human-computer and technologically mediated social interaction.

It will be held in Indiana at the Indiana University, Bloomington from September 29th till October 14th. You can go here for the call for papers.

GDC

Tuesday, March 21, 2006

Ohh.. the GDC is right now in San Jose, California. Wish I could be there. Some interesting keynotes (amongst others, one of Satoru Iwata, the President of Nintendo) and other round table sessions and a whole lot of familiar names that will speak there. For a list you can go here... *click*

Ooh this Bloggers Group Gathering sounds like fun! And how good is it to see Juul attending this conference, to share his views on how it would be possible to cater a serious game to a wider audience.

This lecture about Cameras and Vision where is spoken of mobile devices and its cameras to be used in videogames... I should follow up on that one.

And of course this one is right for me..: Game Design Considerations for Alternate Controllers... darn I wish I was there.
Think I should stop here, just too much there that sounds more than interesting.
